The streets are quiet....lying in wait
to catch your stepping out so late
I've got the strength for one more round
back and forth to the lost and found
a touch a smile a slow fade away
is enough to make and ruin my day
the leaves they turn with nary a glance
and when we notice purely by chance
they're shriveling up and hitting the ground
back and forth to the lost and found
to search is to find what's hidden away
for a reason sir....is what they say
The morning brings an empty bed
tears on the pillow and knocks on the head
sleeping dog never made a sound
back and forth to the lost and found
a touch a smile a slow fade away
is enough to make and ruin my day
The streets are quiet....lying in wait
to catch your stepping out so late
I've got the strength for one more round
back and forth to the lost and found
