No matter how bad things are.....just remember. They could be worse.
"What a waste it is to lose one's mind"
-Dan Quayle
I dreamt Dan Quayle was President
woke up in a cold cold sweat
checked the papers and the TV
they said it hadn't happened yet
so I took some pills and drank some whiskey
and tried to get back to bed
with visions of misspelled words
dancing in my head
I dreamt Dan Quayle was President
and it all seemed so real
he was dumber than I remembered
and not once tried to reveal
that intelligence was overrated
next to values and making war
on nations the size of bedrooms
with oil tucked in the drawer
I thought Dan Quayle was dead
or at least safely tucked away
where he could do no more harm
and cause no more dismay
a republican old folk's home
or a golf course on mars
where he could swim in the ocean
and drink in all the bars
I dreamt Dan Quayle was President
he'd won in a landslide
a beacon of illiteracy
to underachievers worldwide
Murphy Brown his chief of staff
and big bird his number 2
to help him when he gets stuck
trying to tie his shoe
I thought Dan Quayle was dead
or at least safely tucked away
where he could do no more harm
and cause no more dismay
never did I imagine
but Dan Quayle did his part
to actually make us think
that George Bush might be smart
I dreamt Dan Quayle was President
woke up in a cold cold sweat
checked the papers and the TV
they said it hadn't happened yet
so I took some pills and drank some whiskey
and tried to go back to bed
with visions of misspelled words
dancing in my head
