I woke up in the morning with the rain clouds rolling
The whole damn world looked grey
The radio news was giving me the blues
So I turned it off and threw it away
I had to hurry or be late for work
So I chose not to go
And now they gonna fire me but I don't care
'cause sunshine will carry me home
Walked over to the neighbor's and stole his morning paper
And I read what the headlines said
Politics and Wars, Corruption and SARS
And Canadian cows going mad
Well I was hungry so I ate a steak
Yeah I gnawed it right off the bone
So now I'm gonna die but I don't care
'cause sunshine will carry me home
Somebody said they've called a code red
They've discovered a terrorist plot
The cops have a mission to get everyone in prison
And the ones they don't catch will be shot
So I think I'll book a flight to the middle east
It seems safer than staying at home
Yeah everybody's scared but I don't care
'cause sunshine will carry me home
Yeah everybody's scared but I don't care
'cause sunshine will carry me home
