Hail to the Chief

Woke up this morning with nowhere to go
the job my daddy saved me gone with the undertow
but I'm still a true believer...no time for disbelief
Hail to the Chief
Hail to the Chief

I still march for unborn babies and pray on battered knees
for the strength to feel like Adam....and not some chimpanzee
I do some deep deep thinking...but I try to be brief
Hail to the Chief
Hail to the Chief

Hail Hail
the gang's all here
they can't shoot straight
but they live on fear
high on Jesus
but hooked on sin
thank heaven for
the state I'm in

War's the price of freedom...and freedom is a right
and I'm proud to cheer on others in that noble fight
if they make it home to vote...it'll be a huge relief
Hail to the Chief
Hail to the Chief

We got no health insurance to catch us when we fall
and I still can't read the writing...the writing on the wall
but a patriot's got no time for logic or for grief
Hail to the Chief
Hail to the Chief

Hail Hail
the gang's all here
flags on lapels
they're that sincere
in God we trust
to them we pray
that the scourge of dissent
will be wiped away

Self interests be dammed....there's gays across the street
and atheists and terrorists chomping at my feet
rich man poor man beggar man thief
Hail to the Chief
Hail to the Chief
